Contexto is a daily word game where every guess gets a number. The number shows how close your word is in meaning to the secret word, and the answer is number 1.
How the ranking works
Contexto uses an AI language model trained on huge amounts of text. Words that appear in similar situations end up close together, even if they do not mean exactly the same thing. That is why a guess can score better or worse than you expect.
A strategy that works
- Start broad. Try very different words such as an animal, a place, a feeling, an object and an action, and see which area scores best.
- Follow the best number. Once a guess lands under about 500, explore words related to it.
- Think about context, not definitions. Ask where your best word is usually used: in a kitchen, a sport, a job or a story.
- Switch word types. If nouns stall, try a related verb or adjective.
- Use the closest list. When you are within 50 or so, the words near you often share a very specific theme.
